I’m a former ballerina turned travel journalist and theatre publicist, based in Cape Town, South Africa. My first trip out of South Africa was at the ages of 14 and 15 to Monaco, Tel Aviv, Lausanne, Jerusalem, Nice, Cannes, Paris and London to train with some of the world’s best teachers and coaches. Later, as a professional ballerina, I danced in the USA, Canada, Hong Kong and South Africa. I now find myself, fortuitously, with a dynamic dual career as a travel journalist and PR, a skillset that has stood me in good stead as a writer motivated by a passion for telling stories that will inspire others to travel and celebrate an adventurous life. (I also tend to randomly leg hoist, often by request – it’s an ex- ballet dancer thing)
TRAVEL WRITING, JOURNALISM & PHOTOGRAPHY
I began solo travelling in earnest in 2008 with a goal to explore at least two new destinations a year and to date I’ve visited sixty cities on several continents. I’m particularly passionate about ethical and responsible travel, love discovering different cultures and prefer venturing off the tourist track to uncover the personality and authenticity of a place. I take my photography seriously, shooting on a Canon DSLR. My images have been published alongside my editorials in all the magazines to which I contribute.
